Every big idea
started as a fork.

Forkpad scouts GitHub for projects worth building on, shows you the code and the people behind them, and helps you take the next step with the maintainers in the loop.

$ git log --graph --oneline

  1. e4c1a07HEAD → mainmerge: your-idea into main
  2. 9be2f13ship: draft the launch with the maintainers
  3. 4c0d8aashortlist: keep the ones worth your weekend
  4. 77ae2c9inspect: read the code, the commits, the people
  5. 0d9f1b4scout: find the spark on GitHub

Four commits to your next project

  1. 01

    Scout

    Sweep GitHub by momentum, language and topic. Fresh repos from this week sit next to the steady giants.

    $ forkpad scout --topic agents
  2. 02

    Inspect

    Open any project to see who builds it, how often they ship, what it’s written in and how healthy the community is.

    $ forkpad inspect owner/repo
  3. 03

    Shortlist

    Bookmark the contenders and compare them side by side before you spend a weekend on the wrong one.

    $ forkpad shortlist --compare
  4. 04

    Ship

    Draft a launch for the project you believe in, and respect each maintainer’s published stance before it goes anywhere.

    $ forkpad ship --with-maintainers

Maintainers get the final say.

A single forkpad.json file in a repo tells Forkpad whether its builders welcome launches, want to be asked first, or would rather sit it out. We read it before every draft.
